Uganda has allot of known and unknown talents when it comes to her music industry. This Year in particular, we have seen the ones we call ‘music giants’ maintain their names, releasing more hit songs and those fast rising ones who have released songs that have shined a bright light for them. Who knows may be without those songs, their voices wouldn’t have sounded into fans’ ears.
The songs they have sang have rocked airwaves, played in clubs and as if that has been not enough, the singers have also performed at various concerts that have been held all through the year. Below is a breakdown of some of the artistes and the songs that have made magic for them.
Rhodah K- ‘Mpakana’
You can call her a ragga, reggae and dancehall singer because that it is the kind of music she does and early this year, she released a song dubbed ‘Mpakana’. The song’s audio was done by producer Fizol and the video directed by Buggie Videos.
Signed to Buggie Empire music crew owned by brothers Jay-I and Humphrey, Rhodah released her first song with Sizza Man entitled ‘Fresh and Clean’ in 2013. She has performed at shows like Gravity Omutujju’s Omwoto concert and NTV’s Douglas Lwanga’s Purple Beach Party.
Fefe Busi- Kaako
This one is one of the fast rising Luga Flow rappers, he also prefers to call himself the smallest rapper probably because of his small size. ‘Kaako’ tune produced by Kusseim and video done by Grate Make Films, is one of his 2015 hit songs that earned him mileage, he also has released other songs like Juliana.
Raf X- ‘Wolokosa ‘featuring Gravity Omutujju
This one is an artiste who also does Luga Flow and he does his thing under a music crew dubbed Trouble Tabbu which has other artistes like Gravity Omutujju the Boss, Shidy Style and Zil. Wolokosa is a song in which he features Gravity Omutujju and it’s been a big tune for two in 2015.
Audio was produced by Dr Fizol and video done by Grate Make films. Aged 19, Raf X has other songs he has released like ‘Ugandan Juice’ and ‘Primana’.
Victor Kamenyo- ‘Malala’
We bring to you this talented Luga Flow artiste Victor Kamenyo who is under Muzanzi Music Crew. His vocals sound similar to fellow Luga Flow artiste Gravity Omutujju’s. ‘Malala’ was produced by Diggy Baur of Sound Cava records and JahLive Films did the video. He also held his successful ‘Silina Malala’ concert this year in October.
Winnie Nwagi- ‘Katono Katono’
She is a humble beautiful lady signed to Swangz Avenue. ‘Katono Katono’ is a song that has made her a name in 2015. Audio produced at Swangs Avenue and video and directed by Meddie Menz of Mirage Concepts, ‘Katono Katono’ (in little amount) is a love song and it has had lots of airplay.
There are allot of other breakthrough artistes but those are a few we could bring to you and as we welcome the new year, we hope they will do better releasing more songs.
