Singer Angella Katatumba is becoming an icon due to the endorsement deals she’s getting lately, after being invited to attend and perform at the United Nations first ever Humanitarian Summit on the 23rd and 24th of this month in Istanbul Turkey, the artiste has also been appointed the ‘Face of Uganda cancer institute’.
The decision was made last Friday during the launch of the Cancer Awareness Magazine under the theme “Awamu Join the Cancer Fight” at Victoria Hall Sheraton Hotel. This comes after her success on the Mulago Yaffe campaign.
According to Dr. Noleb Mugisha, the Comprehensive Community Cancer Program coordinator, Angella was the perfect choice to appear as the face of Uganda cancer institute. “Angella is the perfect personality to lead all Ugandan awareness campaigns in the fight against cancer at the institute.” He said.
The UCI Director Dr. Jackson Orem and the Professor Fred Okuku of Uganda Cancer Institute at Mulago confirmed Angella’s appointment after critically observing her Mulago Yaffe project, previous donations and commitment to the betterment of Mulago Hospital.
