8-Year Old Is Best Dressed At Vintage Car Show, See Complete List Of Winners

The 7th edition of the Commercial Bank Of Africa (CBA) Vintage and Auto Classic Show went down on last Saturday the 28th of July at Kampala Sheraton Hotel’s gardens where hundreds of vintage items that varied from cars, motorbikes, gramophones, TV sets, radio cassettes, mobile phones to mention but a few.

Just like it has been for the previous two editions, the organisers starting began rewarding the best exhibitors of automobiles in the different categories and this is what we saw last Saturday. The criteria for the competing cars was simple and clear. The car must be clean, able to move, hoot and indicate among other things

Away from the cars, the awards boasted of the category of fashion where they awarded the best dressed male and female in vintage fashion styles of the 1970’s and 80’s . One 8-year old boy identified as Gary Gavina Ahabwe was the best dressed male and this came along with a dinner for two at Shereton Hotel.  The young boy stunned in all maroon bell-bottoms paired with a waistcoat and completed the whole look with an afro-wig

Ronnie Walusimbi won the award of Most appealing Car (Toyopet Corona)

Owner With Most Cars was Richard Mugerwa

Kakooza Wazzir won the Best Locally Restored Car (1967 Jaguar)

Best International Entry was won Allan Tor (1966 Peugeot)

Robert Lule won the award of Best Classic Motorcycle (1991 Suzuki)

Mohinder Singh (2nd left) was the winner of the award of utility vehicles (Range Rover 1985)

Touring cars and station wagons with 1000cc and below category’s winner was Lesley Carveu (1970 Volkswagen Beetle)

Touring cars and station wagons 1300 to 1700 cc category’s winner was Ronald Walusimbi (Toyopet Corona 1967)

 

Touring cars and station wagons 2000cc to 4000cc category’s was Patrick Mweheire (Mercedes Benz 1965)

Touring cars and station wagons 4000cc and above category winner was Paul Bakulu (from Rwanda) with a1968 Buick Riviera

Classic Rally Cars Made In 1989 Or Earlier category was won by Haji Karim (left) with a1972 Datsun

Car With Most Intriguing History category winner was Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire with a Mercedes Benz Wiz3 1978

The 3rd overall winner was Kakooza Wazzir with 1980 Mark 11 22DGL (2 million)

The 2nd overall winner was Ronnie Walusimbi Toyopet with 1967 Corona (3 million)

The over winner was Tor Allan from Kenya with 1966 Peugeot 404 (5 million)
