Ahead of the 9th edition of the popular Nile Gold Jazz and Soul Safari concert slated for Saturday the 8th of October, music lovers are in high spirits especially basing on the fact that one of world’s celebrated Reggae artistes Maxi Priest will be the top guest headliner of this Nile Gold Uganda-sponsored event now in a new venue Lugogo Cricket Oval-Kampala.
And now for the first time ever, organisers have introduced a new live session dubbed Afro-Soul and Rumba Classics. Something that crosses the mind when the word Rumba appears anywhere is Uganda’s legendary band Afrigo, DRC’s Koffi Olomidde among many others.
This live session will be headlined by music legends like Moses Matovu of Afrigo Band, Tony Ssenkebejje and Eddy Ganja. The other most exciting thing is that they will be joined on stage by talented vocalist Lilian Mbabazi and Saxophonist Michael Kitanda.
“We needed to introduce a live music session with Ugandan artists and who better to start than The Legends who’ve been in the industry for 40 years! And still counting.” Tshaka Mayanja the founder Nile Gold Jazz and Soul Safari told Chano8.
What fans should look up to is how this mix of talented elders and youngsters will take to the same stage performing live their classic songs. Bear in mind that there are only 10 days to the event whose entry fee is set at Shs 130,000 for Gold, and Shs 250k Platinum tickets.
No excuse of ‘I don’t know where to get the tickets’ as they are already on sale at Game Lugogo-Kampala, Sheraton Hotel-Kampala and Capital Shoppers at Garden City Kampala or call 0702005252 or 0752005252.
