With four months remaining to the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAS), Ahumuza Brian, the proprietor of Abryanz Collections and the awards organiser has decided to step things up by hiring a Kenyan Public Relations officer who he thinks can do the magic to make the event even bigger and better than the previous editions.
Anyiko Owoko is the new person in charge of publicizing the event slated for December and she takes over from Gloria Haguma who was in charge for the last year’s edition.
Anyiko comes in with a vast experience in media and other related fields in Public relations.
The Kenyan born is in Uganda and appeared on The Beat program on NTV on Thursday, talking about what to expect during this year’s Abryanz fashion and style awards.
Anyiko Owoko refers to herself as a publicist and she is so passionate about it and besides that, she loves story telling especially those related to arts & culture.
“I feel that I am at a point of understanding the power of journalism and that bestowed in me by my career. A lot of people don’t have voices to shout out loud on top of buildings but through us, journalists, we can tell stories that can enlighten and empower,” she said about herself in one of the interviews.
She also added that she is a TV producer, writer and host and also a writer with various publications but mostly the publicist of Africa’s biggest band Sauti Sol as well as promoting the Coke Studio.
