When Bebe Cool said that he would revolutionize music in Uganda and carry the flag way high, several critics doubted and could be heard laughing it off. But, that came to halt yesterday where all the biggest critics of the Ugandan music industry were blown away with most of the songs they had off the Go Mama album.
Bebe Cool called on most of the critics to give their opinions of what they had heard, most praised the songs, especially his rock song tilted Freedom which was written by Micheal Fingaz and Esther Nabasa, because it showed his not too comfortable in his zone, he’s hungry and always looking for new ways to further push his stature a notch higher.
Some critics hated on some of his songs saying that they won’t appeal to his fans down town, but their concerns were deemed irrelevant because the album has so many styles which can appeal to all ages and race.
The Gagamel boss also thanked the writers like A Pass who wrote ‘African girl’ and Benon for his work done on ‘Make the world dance’ among others.
Bebe Cool indeed delivered on what he had promised for the event and that was to explain each song on the album in detail so that fans and the press don’t misunderstand the album.
Patrick Salvado who had just had a sold out one man show also turned up for the event to thank Bebe Cool, for having curtain raised for him his show and to also show his support for the singer who he looks at as a mentor.
When it was all said done, those who thought Bebe Cool could never top love you everyday were left asking for a replay of the Freedom which completely blew almost everyone away.
