Things just keep getting better for singer and philanthropist Angela Katatumba whose works are new receiving massive recognition and reward. A few months earlier after she had just recently partnered with the Diplomatic Corps to hand over a cheque of 185,000,000M ($ 52,000 USD) UGX to the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) in support of her “Mulago Yaffe” campaign that was used to buy beds, she is back in the news yet again.
Angella who is the chairperson and founder of Angella Katatumba Development Foundation (AKDF), was on Saturday 17th of June 2017 handed the Lifetime Achievement award by the Bweyogerere Rotary Club, at a special event in which she was also the Chief Guest.
The smooth crooner also known for her kind heart was awarded for her charity programs geared towards helping people with different ailments especially cancer patients. It comes at a time when the singer who also doubles as the acting Honorary Consul of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Uganda is gearing up for yet another charity drive slated for Friday 30th of June 2017 at Hotel Africana, Nile Hall.
The dinner which is expected to attract many dignitaries, sympathisers and well wishers, is an initiative aimed at fundraising for the construction of a home for Angel’s Centre for Children with Special Needs – a child care centre for vulnerable children.
Angel’s Center which is situated in Nansana Wakiso district takes care of kids with mental challenges to help them become self sufficient individuals in the future.
The centre at the moment can only accommodate 30 children at the moment and their goal is to accommodate 300 at a time when adjustments are made.
Angella together with other talented local artistes will headline to perform live at the event and with her amazing vocals, we are sure she will give a memorable performance.
