Rays hit the canvas screen on Saturday 19th December 2015 at the National theatre on the premiere of award winning movie ‘House Arrest’ where Zenken films celebrated its production in a glamorous red carpet event. The film has had lots of fortunes this year, scoring more accolades than expected.
The premier started at around 6:30pm with cultural dancers and instrumentalists displaying a lot of talent. The event was hyped by Kenneth Mugabi with his famous song ‘Nakki’ among others and all sorts of fashion were showcased on the red carpet.
‘House Arrest’ is a brand new Ugandan movie featuring Farshee Kuteesa, Ssudi Jakira, Williams Ndawula, Dinah Nantabazi and other stars produced by Zenken films. The film has an undeniably talented cast and excellent pictures accompanied by 3D voicing. The audience went wild with the bold scenes and the realistic themes tackled in the movie which was a plus for the director.
The plot is about a young woman Alice Kigozi, who successfully faked the death of her abusive husband whom she killed in self-defense, Viola her late husband’s side-dish who she knew as her sister-in-law, bewitches her to face a house arrest where she cannot exit and stand a rough condition outside her house and only to discover that the house is haunted by a violent spirit of her dead husband attacking for revenge, she fights to send back the ghost where it belongs and to have her life back.
The drama-thriller has scooped knobs in major categories including Best Feature Film, Film of the Year, Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Director which went to Joseph Kenneth Ssebaggala. It has also been recognized in Best Sound, Best Cinematography and Best Editing/Post Production categories.
