Bayimba Festival, which officially kicks off today at the National theatre of Uganda from 12noon to midnight will run for the next three days.
According to the press release, the Bayimba festival is Uganda’s number one multi-arts festival.
‘The Bayimba International Festival of the Arts that is annually held in Kampala during the 3rd week of September is Uganda’s number one multi-arts festival. The festival has developed into an important benchmark for the consumption of Uganda’s finest arts, presenting Ugandans and visitors with a series of unparalleled feasts of music, dance, theatre, film, and visual arts from renowned and upcoming local and international artists.’
To kick off the festival in style, there will be several performances from the likes of Haruna Mubiru, Nehoreka of Zimbabwe, Matia Kakumirizi of Masaka, Dr. Bone of South Africa, Sifa Kelele of Kampala, Uganda and Santuri Safari among others. One of the highlights of tomorrow’s performance will be from the talented emcee on the rise ‘Ruyonga’, expect to be left with ‘chills’ because he never puts in half a performance.
