- Bebe Cool asks international funders to join the fight against Tuberculosis in Uganda
At the start of this week, self proclaimed music Big Size Bebe Cool fell in things after being appointed as the Tuberculosis ambassador for Uganda and this was made possible by the Uganda Stop TB Partnership (USTP) in collaboration with their Geneva Partners United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)
Bebe will be tasked with raising awareness about Tuberculosis and drawing the public attention towards its plight in Uganda. Following his appointment, he is currently in the United States of America where he is attending the ongoing United Nations High Level Meeting on Tuberculosis (UNHLM) held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on from Sunday the 23rd to Thursday the 27th of September 2018.
When given the platform to express him self, asked the funders to give any necessary financial help so that it can help chase this killers disease that has consumed many Ugandans.
“For TB in Uganda, we have significantly suffered as much as any other country but I am here to give you assurance that TB will sound the pride and strength of Ugandan man to fight against the disease that has taken our brothers and sisters. This should not be a meeting of words. This should be the beginning of actually delivering funds because we cannot do this without extra funding. If TB is killing 80,000 people in Uganda, HIV is killing 60,000 so why fund HIV for than TB” Bebe Cool said
Prior to that Bebe Cool was given a platform to also perform his songs. He excited the guest as he performed his hit tune titled ‘Kabulengane’ and his showcase caught the attentions of the guests who were seen cheering him on.
