The rumours have been making rounds for some time and with Bell running teasers on social media and even mainstream media, the hype has been building up with the debate bringing more questions than answers till last week when Bell Lager under their entertainment and music platform Bell Jamz confirmed the concert.
At a media do held at Liquid Silk in Bugolobi, organizers confirmed September 15h 2017 as the date for the show dubbed ‘Naija, Ghana to Kampala’ expected to have fireworks as headline artistes Tecko and Mr. Eazi jet in to join local stars like Bebe Cool, Cindy and YKee Benda.
The West African are currently one of the most in-demand artistes with Nigerian star Tekno having many club bangers like Pana, Dance, Onye Ne Ku, among others while Mr. Eazi, known for tracks like Leg Over, Dance For Me, Skin Tight and others is a Nigerian rapper based in Ghana signed to Wizkid’s Starboy entertainment.
The concert organized in partnership with Talent African and Silk events will take place at the Lugogo Cricket Oval and the organizers say it will be the biggest this year.
Speaking at the announcement, Uganda Breweries Limited’s Head of Beers, Muzito Estella, said Bell Lager has had a long standing history with music and has through the years supported the growth of the local music and entertainment industry. The concert will be delivered by Bell Lager under the auspices of its music platform, Bell Jamz.
“Music is a platform that Bell Lager has in the past used to connect with customers. It ties in well with Bell Lager’s celebratory spirit. With the introduction of a unified music platform named Bell Jamz, we will be engaging and interacting with our customers through music in a more meaningful and exciting way. This concert will be the first effort towards that,” she added.
Talent Africa’s Aly Allibhai said ordinary tickets will be sold for UGX35k whereas VIP tickets will cost UGX100K. For those who purchase early bird tickets, ordinary tickets will go for UGX25k and VIP for UGX75k and these will be on offer until 30th August.
The evening then went into party mode as the media fraternity were treated to free bites and drinks till late and spiced up with performances from YKBenda and Cindy.
