According to a reliable sources, Ghetto president Bobi Wine is said to have rejected a bribe of Shs 200million from one of the key political people so as not to contest for the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament race.
It is said that, the artiste who is rumored to be among the people interested in contesting for the post was first offered shs100million before turning it down, which forced them to increase it to Shs200million and he still rejected it and not to just participate, but to also offer them his support since he commands a huge fan base.
Bobi Wine who has not yet confirmed whether he is going to participate or not has also not yet made any public comment about the rumours. However because of the ongoing talk that put him in poll position to become the new Member of Parliament, he might as well give it a shot should court uphold the earlier ruling to have a by-election.
The High Court on July 1st kicked out Kyadondo East MP Apollo Kantinti (FDC) after NRM’s William Sitenda Ssebalu successfully challenged his election on the grounds that, there was non-compliance with election rules.
Bobi Wine has of late been involved in a series of charitable activities to give back to community and perhaps this is the reason why many observers believe he is eyeing a political position. It still remains to be seen what his next move is as he has been getting closer and closer the politicians.
