Bobi Wine To Battle Paul Kagame, Ethiopian Premier For ‘African Personality Of The Year’

Bobi Wine will never forget 2018 for both the good and bad situations. It is this year that he was allegedly tortured and imprisoned, he had the most successful concert and his political position has grown bigger and stronger.

However, despite being granted stage to perform finally, Bobi Wine is ending 2018 on a good note after his name appeared on the list for 2018 personality of the year according to the Africa News Awards 2018

The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament is battling it out with Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame and Abiy Ahmed Ethiopia’s prime Minister. Yes, you just read that.

The nominees are selected after making research and acknowledging only those who have impacted news throughout the year and this year Bobi was noticed after he challenged President Museveni over the age limit debate and many other political events that followed.

If he wins especially nbasing on the fact that he stands a very big chance, Bobi will be the first Ugandan musician to have done so.

Already, Ugandan musicians have been successful this year with Eddy Kenzo and Ykee Benda winning Africa Music Magazine Awards (ARIMMA). Bebe Cool, Irene Namatovu and Sandra Nankoma also worn awards at the  All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)

We shall not forget Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo who came 4th in the recently concluded Miss World beauty pageant where she  also emerged as Miss World Africa
