In April this year, the inspector general of police, Martin Okoth Ochola cancelled musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine’s much anticipated Easter Monday music concert
The reason for the cancellation was that Kyagulanyi’s previous music concerts held at his One Love beach in Busabala have allegedly fallen short of security guidelines.
Since then, the ‘Kyarenga’ hit maker hasn’t performed anywhere but he now intends to entertain his fans at his upcoming Independence day music concert dubbed ‘Osobola Ku Independence’ slated for 9th of October at his One Love Beach Busabala
It is for that matter that he wrote to Uganda Police for clearance ahead of the concert which he expects to attract approximately 10,000 revellers.
In a letter Bobi wrote to Police, he requests them to provide security for the said concert as he promises to with the help of his team to also secure the venue and comply to any lawful guidelines that may be issued
“The Music show code-named ‘Osobola Ku Independence’ will attract approximately ten thousand people and will run from 10:00am to 11:00pm. I also request for security for the said concert. On our part, we are ready to ready and willing to work with the police to secure the venue as well as revelers. We shall accordingly comply with any lawful guidelines that may be issued in this regard” Read part of Bobi Wine’s letter to Police
Meanwhile, by the time we published this story, there was no official communication from Police to Bobi’ s request to hold his show.
