Yesterday, Bobi Wine paid his last respects to his father Mzee Ssentamu at Holy Trinity Church, Kamwokya.
The singer who barely kept it together as he made his speech, said that his father was an inspirational teacher to those that were close to him.
“He was a respectable, hard working man. He is the reason I am what I am today. Mzee taught us to be hardworking and be respectable in society and above all, he also taught us that humility is key for a businessman to be successful,’ Bobi Wine tearfully said.
He further commended his dad saying, he was a true African who fathered 30 children.
Hurting but not broken, the singer is determined to celebrate his father’s life and it wasn’t a surprise when he said,
‘ Let’s all drink for the general happiness of the company, and ours friends “abroad”(gone), but we’re here….. The old man is gone, but we’re here,May the almighty grant him a perfect rest that he so deserves,May his light continue to shine through us. I will miss you dad.’
Mzee Ssentamu lost his life on Tuesday morning after losing the battle to diabetes, a disease he had struggled with for a while. He will be put to rest today in his village, Kanoni, Gomba district.
