What started as a rumour later became reality following singer Bobi Wine real names Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi’s decision to stand as one of the candidates in the recently concluded Kyadondo East constituency by elections. He won with an overwhelming number of votes beating his contenders at the polling stations.
The question there after was when was; ‘When is Bobi Wine swearing in? That was the debate until last week when parliament set today Tuesday the 11th of July as the day the self proclaimed Ghetto President officially joins parliament. Today, business around Magere and surrounding areas came to a standstill as he left the place to parliament with his convoy of cars and supporters who were cheering him on up the August house.
According to the photos going viral of social media, thousands of fans have truly shown him support just like they did during the campaign rallies and as we talk now, Bobi Wine is now officially an ‘Honourable’ who has been handed to the tools of work ready to represent Kyadondo East, a thing he promised to do without fear or favour.
Bobi Wine was accompanied by his wife Barbie Itugo Kyagulayi, his brothers Nyanzi commonly known as Chairman Nyanzi and Eddy alond with other Fire Base Crew members. By the time we went to press, Parliament and places near it were crowded with fans who represented to see their MP swear in although only a few were allowed to access the parliament premises.
