Today Friday the 16th of March marks exactly three years since the Ugandan Ragga-Dancehall industry and the general music industry at large lost a young and highly promising artiste AK 47 real name Emmanuel Mayanja.
AK as he was sometimes called died on the night of Thursday the 16th March 2015 while he had gone to hang out with his friends at his then boss Jeff Kiwa’s owned bar called Dejavu located in Kansanga, a Kampala city suburb.
Up to now, the real causes of the untimely death of the ‘Champion’ hit maker are still scanty with just confusing and controversial reports alleging that as he had gone to ease himself, he slid on the slippery floor of the bar’s washrooms, fell and hit his head hard on the floor. He was rushed to Nsambya hospital where he later died from.
Since AK’s death, Chameleone and the entire Mayanja family have been paying tribute to the fallen singer every 16th of March and today they did the same. Chameleone who was accompanied by his sons Abba and Alfa, Weasel and some members of Leone Island crew spent the whole day in Busato village in Mityana district where the late is resting in his permanent house.
They visited AK 47 grave where photos of them were taken and shared to Chameleone’s Facebook Page. He captioned them saying “We will never stop praying for you. AK47 | RADIO # RiP”
Chameleone’s remembrance of 3 years of AK 47’s death comes a month after another celebrated and promising singer Mowzey Radio also died of a similar death in bar after an alleged bar brawl where he sustained fatal head injuries that led to his death a few days after.
Here are the photos of Chameleone remembering the life of his late brother AK 47, three years after his death.
