Thousands of people turned up for the 2016 MTN Marathon on Sunday with some heeding to the call for charity while others simply showed up for the fun of it. There were those who took the fun to the next level as they showed up with makeup and smart phones to snap away the ‘selfie moments’.
One particular crazy runner showed up with his favourite sheep and there were those who take advantage of any public gathering to party away. The latter group having kick-started their antics by dawn with light workout sessions and aerobics and crazy dancing.
The real party how ever came in during the award ceremony when special performances were announced by the MC Ronnie Mc Vex.The line up included some big names in the entertainment industry and were kicked off with DJ Mixes. The sound by Silk Events was on point so the massive crow got every bit crystal clear.
With many people in the 10 Kilometre category still running or rather walking towards the finish line and others getting massaged in the first aid tents, it was dance-hall and ragga artiste Cindy who woke many from the slumber land. We know Cindy for being a talented artiste, but many usually remember her mostly for her sexy dress code and erotic dance moves.
Here it was not different as she stepped on stage in cowboy boots, tight white pants and a matching string-bra that left nothing to imagination. None the less, the marathon runners and crowd stayed glued as they followed every sexy dance move she pulled on stage with her queen dancers who were not dressed differently save for change in color of their tops. After performing hits ‘One and Only’ and ‘Ndi Mukodo’, she left the crowd gazing.
Then stepped in Gravity Omutujju the crowd’s favourite who was welcomed by a loud cheer and straight went on a Lugaflo rampage throwing words at a speed that can compete with light as the crowd cheered on. ‘Ekyebeyi’, ‘Tunyumize’, ‘Sipowa’, ‘Omwoto’ and the adrenaline adducing ‘Winner’ are some of the songs he did as his fans joined him in flowing along.
Other performances came from a talented Acrobatics team, King Saha, Big Eye ‘Star Boss’ and concluded by Ziza Bafana whose queen dancer left many in awe with her booty-shaking antics. The party continued in several VIP tents where there were plenty of eats and drinks.
