Being the first time in Gulu, revellers with the majority being Gulu University students stormed Acholi Inn last night where the Club Dome series of entertainment events took place. This gig targets university going students and the entire youth on a bid to promote Club beer and other Nile Breweries brands like Club Twist, Eagle Lager, Nile Special to mention but a few.
The night’s performances saw Ragga artiste Ziza Bafana, Jackie Akello and Djs Roja and Slick Stuart thrill the crowd. On the other hand, attendees began trickling in the venue as early as 7PM where they were treated to the best of live music courtesy of Fenon Events and a variety of other activities they engaged in like pool, boxing , playing darts, volley ball, table football and video games .
All this was ongoing up to 8:35 PM when MC Hype and Dj Emma took to the stage, taking the fans on a journey of more live Dj mixes as Hype emceed along plus giving some people free Club beers. This session exited the crowd until 9:40 PM. Singer Jackie Akello did her performance next and fans sang along and danced to the rhythm as she sang songs like ‘Afoyo’ and ‘Samanya’.
The power of ‘disability is not inability’ was manifested when next artiste BSG Labongo took the mic and thrilled the fans before comedian Salvado Idringi the official host came cracking jokes and exciting them the more trying out his singing skills doing Busy Signal’s ‘Free Up Black People’ hit and later invited another performer Bosmic Otim followed by Kent and Flosso who did songs like ‘Tom and Jerry’, ‘Pull Up’ among others.
There was nonstop entertainment and last but not least was Dj Dash doing live video mixing and later on the most anticipated performer, none other than Ziza Bafana who appeared on stage at 8minutes past mid night with a lot of ululations from the crowd.
He performed ‘Kidandali’, ‘Guluma Nasomye’, ‘Mavuunya’, ‘Katonda Wa Ragga’, ‘Friendly Match’, ‘Agende’ and ‘Tuli Majje’ songs alongside two male dancers and a female one who wowed the fans with her erotic dance moves on stage. The last performers Dj Roja and Slick Stuart played music which the people danced to until late in the wee hours of the night.
