Uganda diva Cinderella Sanyu is set to perform at the Club Mega Fest, which is slated for September 20, at the Namboole Stadium.
Commonly known as Cindy, she started pursuing her own career in 2008 after she had split up with Blu3, a girl band which was also made up of Lillian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru.
The afro-pop singer topped charts in Uganda with her ‘Ayokyayokya’song receiving a lot of air play across the country. As a young girl, Cindy never got a chance to sing in her school choir because she was ‘tiny’ so her musical talents were nurtured in church and at home by her mother.
Cindy is the living proof that hard work pays off. The singer collaborated with Bobi Wine and Jamaican artist, Mr G to release ‘Dilemma’, a song which left many Ugandans dancing to the tunes. If that wasn’t enough, Cindy’s energy when she steps on stage is something that leaves one bewildered and craving for more.
The ‘Selecta’ singer has received several local awards and international recognition. In July, Cindy was in Rwanda where she performed alongside Nigerian superstar ‘Davido.’
”Rwanda was awesome. Got to meet Davido, yup, Africa’s best male artiste. Forget what u see and hear,he’s a really cool guy.”
With just 14 days until the Club Mega Fest, expect to be blown away with over 20 local artists and 4 international artists like Mafikizolo, Burna Boy, Shaggy and Patra all to perform. As the excitement builds, it’s only safe to say, expect to be thrilled by Cindy’s performance among others.
