These days, Ugandan comedians have turned aircraft into boda bodas going by the fact that an entire week can’t pass without a comedian flying out for some gig.
With Salvado Idringi in Nigeria and Ann Kansiime in and out of Uganda on a regular, Ronnie Musiimenta Macvex has also joined suit as he is slated to perform in Copenhagen-Denmark this weekend.
The Theatre factory comedian flew out last evening aboard Qatar airways QR 1388.
Ronnie’s comedy is interesting and humorous because he usually talks about his western origin and background but when asked why he keeps doing that, his answer was as simple as this;
“The best joke a comedian can ever do is a joke about themselves or about their very own. I talk about westerners because I am one of them so I know what to talk about.” He said.
Ronnie started his comedy career with a group called Brain wash Comedy, a group of young talented guys trying their luck in business and they had shows at Sabrinas every Tuesday although it was not easy to convince and maintain the audience. They would give their friends transport to come for their shows and then transport back.
Herbert Ssegujja commonly known as Mendo Museveni or Teacher Mpamiire invited him to one of the Theatre factory ‘FIVE STAR MADNESS’ show at Hotel Africana after spotting him and from then, he started featuring on their shows every Thursday at National Theatre.
“It was always a desire. I enjoyed seeing someone talk and many people laugh so I wanted to know how it feels like.” He explained what drove him into the industry
