Sebastian Desabre remained in Egypt after agreeing terms and conditions with one of the top flights club known as Pyramids FC.
He was expected to return to Uganda with the rest of the Uganda cranes players but didn’t. However, according to Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), they reached a mutual understanding with the French coach and his contract was terminated.
“The reasons for termination of the employment contract are for the benefit and growth of both parties,” FUFA said in a statement.
A few hours ago, the 43 year old was unveiled at Pyramids FC as their new coach and this means that the two year love story he has had with Ugandans has come to an end.
“Sebastien Desabre is our new coach. Welcome master,” the club posted on their official twitter handle and this was after the club chairman Hossa Elbadry had confirmed that Desabre had signed a two year contract with them earlier last week.
“I am very grateful for having joined Pyramids Football Club,”Desabre said during his unveiling.
He joined the Uganda Cranes in December 2017 from Egyptian Premier League giants Ismaily FC after just one year in charge.
Desabre took over from Mitcho who after his resignation as Uganda Cranes Coach joined South Africa’s Orlando Pirates. By the time of his departure (Micho), he had become a favorite to many Ugandans and that was the challenge Desabre got because so many people were skeptical about him.
Disabre however proved them wrong by taking the Uganda Cranes out of the group stages in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations 2019, something that Mitcho failed to do
