Singer Spice Diana had the worst experience at the recently concluded Kampala City Festival Kampala City Carnival after she was badly beaten and humiliated by Police as she went for her next performance at one of the stages.
The ‘Onsanuula’ singer had been silent since then until yesterday the 11 of October when she spoke out and expressed her big disappointment in Police, while speaking on NTV’s daily show dubbed ‘The Beat’ hosted by Douglas Lwanga.
Spice spoke out at the time when Police issued a statement alleging that Spice disrespected Police’s security rules thus the fracas according to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Emillian Kayima
“She refused to comply with rules of security; she and her manager Lubega Roger said no to the Police check and wanted to forcefully access the venue. She was later arrested and taken to Nkrumah police post, we released her on Police Bond and the file is ready for prosecution” Kayima said
Spice expressed her disappointment narrating how they couldn’t give her a chance to explain herself out despite several humble trials. She further disclosed how she is not violent and how her intentions were to get to the stage and perform but not engaging the Police/security officers.
“Iam not a violent person and will never be because even from mare looking at me, you see I don’t have the energy to fight and as for Kayima, I am highly disappointed in him. It shouldn’t have been him to make a decision before hearing my side.
Leaving that aside, a section of critics had taken to social media saying that Spice was just seeking attention and she rubbished the allegations saying. “I can’t put my life in such danger for attention and people should not be judgmental.”
On top of all these, the singer is still expected to go and report to police on Friday the 13th of October. We shall keep you updated
