The Drama, Tension And Excitement Of The English Premier League Is Back This Weekend

Ugandan are crazy about soccer. They love the national team ‘The Uganda Cranes’. Even year after year of disappointment has never wavered the support for the failure to qualify for a major tournament.

However, other than the World cup which just ended a few days back, there is one other tournament that gets the blood of Ugandans racing .The English Premier League.

This weekend it returns on our screens and FM stations (with live commentary). Ugandans are sure going to be following in big numbers as usual. Parties are usually organised for diehard fans just before kickoff and also at the end of the season. Most fans in Uganda support Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Manchester United who have been rejuvenated by the appointment of Dutch master Luis Van Gaal, kickoff the season at: 45PM against Swansea City. Defending Champions Manchester City start their defence of the title against Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Sunday while first runner-up Liverpool are up against Southampton.

Jose Mourhino’s Chealsea who have invested heavily again are favourites to win it after signing Francesco Fabrigas from Barcelona, Diego Cost (Atletico Madrid) and the returning club legend Didier Drogba from Galatasaray. Liverpool who have so far signed about eight players want to better their last season’s finish of second. Arsenal have also brought in new faces like Alexis Sanchez
