Blankets and Wine Kampala is one of the biggest social events in town and every time the next edition is approaching, party lovers and well wishers are always anticipating for this quarterly and fun-filled experience which is East Africa’s premier music experience designed to showcase outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based music.
With the 17th edition happening this Sunday the 20th of August at Lugogo Cricket Oval, a flashback to last edition which was the 16th, was a well lit one that had artistes like Afrigo Band, Cindy, Muthoni The Drummer Girl from Kenya among many artistes who entertained the revellers. This time round, House of Djs (the organisers) have lined up 9 talented artistes namely Seyi Shay from Nigeria, Shifah Musisi, T-Bro, Lagum, Joel Sebunjo, Winyo, Alif Naaba and Lily Kadima to do their magic.
However, apart from performing artistes which is the event’s main mission, there are other new things organisers have introduced on the menu starting with this edition and going forward. One of the key things to note is that the event will be starting at midday ‘sharp’ just like the posters say.
“This time round the show is surely going to start on time. We have taken all measures so by midday the show will kick off and those people who will come at 5 or at 3, know the show will kick off at midday. We are also accommodating more fashion vendors and Arena Sports Bar is going to sponsor us with some board games. We are doing something with Nyege Nyege who will be doing a silent disco” Flower Kenyagi the public relation officer House of Djs explained.
Chano8 went further to ask what inspired the selection of these headlining artistes and Flower went ahead to explain that. “It is their row talent and ability to perform on stage and how good they are on live band.”
In case you missed the 35% and 25% decrease on the early tickets a few weeks ago, you will pay the usual Ug Shs 100,000. Another option is to also get tickets at Ug Shs 75,000 if you go to Kentaro and buy one of their hair products or go to sparkles Salon and have a hair make up.
