From Jamaica to Japan, and from St. Petersburg to Johannesburg, the ‘Sitya loss’ bug is taking over the whole world. We all know by now that Eddie Kenzo’s blockbuster hit song ‘Sitya loss’ has been a hit on internet after it was uploaded on Youtube.
The song immediately went viral after the Ghetto kid’s version was shared on the same platform hitting close to five million views in a few months. Since then, Eddie Kenzo (real names Edrissa Musuza) became an instant international star touring South Africa, UK and the US. He has become such a darling in the international music scene that, he rarely comes back home to Uganda because he is either booked for a performance or is scheduled for an important interview with some high profile media personality.
A series of such events have since continued and followed by nominations and recognitions in various awards across the globe. Many crazy fans have been doing their own ‘Sitya loss’ dance moves and choreographies which they also upload on Youtube.
However, the latest of these crazy eye catching dance patterns is in West Africa particularly Togo after Kenzo released a remix of the song featuring Toofan. The 2014 MTV award winners are a music duo comprising Master Just and Barabas. They are currently the best music export from Togo having been nominated in many international awards.
The remix which is also doing well in FM stations and clubs back home, has no official music video yet. However it has not stopped fans who have recorded their own videos dancing to the tunes. Most notably the so called ‘Togo soccer players’ who have been dancing everywhere to ‘Sitya loss’. From hotel rooms to streets, and car parks. The whole craze is spreading the ‘Sitya loss gospel’ like wild fire.
Kenzo who is preparing for his major concert slated for September 19th at Kati Kati, has had the best year in his music career and is expected to jet into the country soon. His Ghetto kids are also going places after being invited to appear on Ellen’s show in America. The popular TV show is hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
