 Excitement As Africell Brings Back  OTT Inclusive Social Bundles

 Africell Uganda is at it again after announcing  the relaunch of the SWIFT bundles or what are commonly referred to as social bundles.

 Following the introduction of the OTT tax last year in July, they took a management decision to stop the supply of social bundles for a time allowing them to see how they could compete effectively under the prevailing policy changes.

On Monday the 11th of March they announced a unique social bundle offer which will be the first of its kind on the Ugandan market. For the first time, Ugandans will now be able to buy daily, weekly and monthly social bundles without worrying about paying the OTT tax for them to enjoy their internet experience.

According to our CEO Mr. Mohammad Ghaddar, “We made a pledge to our customers to always avail quality, affordable and timely communication solutions. It is in respect to this pledge that we are announcing a much better and more competitive SWIFT bundle than we had the last time.”

The SWIFT bundles will be sold only through three key channels which are Africell shops countrywide, the Africell money platform accessible by dialing *144# and also through selected vendors like Payway, whose network reaches far and wide.

The SWIFT acronym implies SnapChat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter which are the apps or websites that the bundle enables customers access. The new SWIFT bundles comes with increased bundle volumes which last for longer periods of time at cost friendly prices which enable many people enjoy the internet experience without fear of expensive costs.

Mr. Edgar Karamagi the Public Relations Officer had this to say about the new swift bundles “This new offer is another first in the data industry! With this new SWIFT offer our customers will only pay for the bundle and worry about nothing else apart from using their data as they please. When it comes to inclusion, we have bundles which go for as low as 300/= and the highest price being 10,000/=, enabling the majority of mobile subscribers to enjoy the internet at affordable prices.”

Lastly the SWIFT bundle will have a carry-over element which will allow customers to have value for their money on bundles whose validity expires before they are exhausted. The weekly and monthly SWIFT bundles will have a grace period of one month after expiry for the customer to load another monthly bundle to reclaim their expired bundle.
