‘Agatako’ a Kinyarwanda word meaning a ‘special souvenir’ and decoration given to lovers as a symbol appreciation and to remind them of keeping their love eternally, is a song Uganda’s self proclaimed music doctor and Heavy Weight Jose Chameleone did with Rwanda’s Dj Pius a few months ago. The song has proved to be a mega hit in both Uganda and Rwanda and its video got a massive welcome from the fans across.
Being a hit song that has been loved and enjoyed by different kinds of fans, Joram Muhoozi also known as Cruiser has organised a party and boat cruise aimed at celebrating the song’s success. The Agatako Boat Cruise is slated to take place on Saturday the 10th of September 2016.
The boat cruise with a dress code of Red and White will set off at Port Bell to Mutima Island on Lake Victoria on the MV Aman ship which is one of the fanciest and newly introduced luxury boats in Uganda. A lot is expected at the event and when Chano8 contacted Joram Muhoozi (Cruiser) the man behind this event, he had this to say.
“We are starting our boat cruise at 1pm and sail for two hours to Mutima Island. Revellers should expect a new form of entertainment including adventuring, boat cruise, entertainment from artistes from Rwanda and Uganda. September babies will be recognised and be given gifts among others.”
“Dr Jose Chameleone is however informed although he has not yet confirmed (attendance). He will confirm his availability before end of next week. On the DJ list so far we have DJ Pius commonly known for his song Agatako with Chameleon, DJ Anita from Rwanda and DJ St. Ace from Uganda.”
“Dj mixes will be both on boat and Mutima Island and even at the after party. We will have goat roasting and beach games.”
To be a part of this party one will need to pay 100,000 Ugandan shillings and 25,000 Rwandan Francs. The boat will set off at 1:00pm and revellers are expected at dock earlier.
