There is nothing that can stand in your way when you are destined for greater things. After encountering loses during his concert at Kyadondo Rugby grounds which flopped, rapper Fik Fameica is a happy guy once again after Coke Studio added him on their Christmas playlist.
The show has released its much anticipated Christmas Playlist and it features “Deck The Halls”, an original R&B/hip hop track performed by two of Africa’s rising hip hop stars: Fik Fameica and Laylizzy (Mozambique).
Fik and Laylizzy recorded the song earlier this month during the recording of the upcoming new season of the show dubbed ‘Coke Studio Africa 2019’ where they first met. Singing in Luganda, Portuguese and English, the duo immediately struck a rapport, as they worked on several music fusions produced by Tanzanian producer Lizer. Lovers of the show will get to see Fik and Laylizzy in cutting-edge performances that will unite audience from East to Southern Africa and across.
Ahead of the release of “Deck The Halls”, Fik Fameica said, “Christmas is a season that unites us all irrespective of our backgrounds and country of origin. I am so glad to have met a new friend and artist I admire: Laylizzy from Mozambique. Our Christmas song is definitely bringing different cultures together. Hope you will all love it!”
Other stars featured on the 2018 Christmas Playlist include Moji Shortbabaa (Kenya) in “12 Days of Sikuku” and Skales (Nigeria) in “Joy To The World”.
