The jet lag could not stop him from giving Ugandans a good time as he performed for an hour. The musician who was slated to be in the country by Sunday the 30th of December 2018 popped in late as his flight was delayed.
This somehow caused concern to many who thought that the musician would not make it to the concert which was dubbed ‘30 Billion Concert‘. However he assured fans through a tweet that he would make it.
“Uganda I had some flight delays tonight and I couldn’t make it but I’ll be there in a few hours. We’re gonna light it up tomorrow at the Pearl of Africa Hotel! Baddest!,”
This was enough assurance and the long wait came to an end when the musician came straight from the airport to the venue.
After an hour of setting up machines, microphone checking and warming up, Davido took to the stage at 2.30 AM with his famous ‘Dami Duro’ track before jumping onto others such as ‘All Of You’, ‘Tchelete’(his collaboration with Mafikizolo from South Africa), ‘Number One’, ‘Skelewu’, ‘The Money’ and then invited Pallaso on stage to do their collabo ‘Twatoba’.
In what was his last session, the 26-year old performed songs such as ‘Fall’, ‘If’, ‘Gobe’, and ‘Aye’ among others but every time he sang a song that the crowd liked, they would shout on top of their voices and sing along with him.
His performance was semi-live and the crowd seemed to enjoy every bit of it and by the time he left the stage at 3.30 AM, hundreds were satisfied to have started off the New Year in style.
Before Davido, the crowd had got some entertainment from Ugandan artistes such as Sheebah, Bebe Cool, Lydia Jazmine, Navio, Gravity Omutujju and Don Mc among others.
