The fear of missing out (FOMO) is building as excitement sky-rockets as the fight of the century between American Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and Philipino Manny Pacquiao gets closer.
Ugandans join the rest of the world in debating about the fight which has become the talk of town in the last few months as boxing fans gear up in anticipation of a great fight. Some people have already staked highly and betting houses have been very busy of late as media stories have dominated about the fight.
Social media as well as main stream media has been awash about predictions and who supports who as respective fans gunner support for their favourite fighter.
There has been a war of words between the two protagonists and their fans blasting each other. The other former great fighters like Mohamed Ali have not been left out as they joined in the fight of ‘The Greatest’ with the later claiming May weather is a small boy who is scared.
Ali believes and reiterated that he is still the greatest ever boxer to grace the rings with Mike Tyson another of the great fighters concurring with him. Other veterans have also spoken and taken sides.
In Uganda, our own great fighters like Justine Jjuko and Godfrey Nyakana have given their verdicts and predictions on who will dominate the most expensive ever fight on the planet with the former giving it to Mayweather. Now the stage is all set to find out who takes the day tonight at MGM Grand arena in Las Vegas.
“I am not going to sleep tonight as I will be in the bar all night. The excitement is too much i can’t even think about anything else” Bernard an ardent Manny Pacquiao fan told chano8.
With many people throwing their support behind the Philipinno because of his ‘humble’ background, many Ugandan are expected to stay awake as the fight will be in the wee hours of Sunday Morning.
