He might not have gone down as one of the greatest Spanish and Barcelona stars but Luis Garcia is one of the footballers who made a name in the English Premier League after featuring for Liverpool FC and will most be remembered for a ‘Ghost goal’ that knocked out Chelsea in the Champions league in 2005.
Well, the Spanish retired footballer is coming to Uganda for the Gorilla trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable forest in Kanungu on Thursday.
He will be coming along with his family to the Pearl of Africa courtesy of Amos Wekesa, the Chief Executive Officer of Great Lakes Safaris.
Before the former Liverpool winger travels to Southwestern Uganda, he will first have a meet and greet dinner at Sheraton hotel on the 17th for a fee that will be communicated.
Born on 24th June 1978, Luis Javier Garcia mainly played as a left winger although he kicked the ball with both feet despite his small physique.
He professionally played for Barcelona football club and Atletico Madrid before he was bought by Liverpool with whom he won the UEFA champion’s league among other trophies.
Meanwhile in a related development, it is also said other Barcelona stars like Iniesta and first team coach Luis Enrique are also on course to come to Uganda a few months from now for the same reason.
