Following the State Minister of Youth and Children Affairs Florence Nakiwala’s promise of taking young rapper Fresh Kid to a boarding school which him and his mother boycotted, Rajiv Ruparelia, the Managing Director Ruparelia Foundation intervened and offered a full scholarship to the promising artiste.
Fresh Kid and his manager met Rajiv in his office in Kampala where they signed the agreement that will see Fresh Kid studying at Kampala Parents School (owned and managed by Ruparelia Foundation) until he finishes primary seven.
“Through my foundation, I have decided to give you sponsorship until primary seven at Kampala parent’s school. We shall see from there. I also don’t want you to give up on your music because it’s clear you are an inspiration to so many people out there but all in all school comes first,” Rajiv was heard telling Freshkid whose real name is Patrick Senyonjo.
The Ruparelia foundation chairman who is also son to prominent Ugandan businessman Sudhir Ruparelia said that this decision was made after he was moved by Fresh Kid’s ambition at a tender age of only seven years.
“I would love to see him become a guide and an inspiration to many young people out there.”
With such a scholarship, Fresh kid’s music career is definitely on the right track because Kampala Parent’s is one of those schools that also looks at talent besides education. Their curriculum is way up there as it always appears on the top performing schools every year.
