Friday Night Lights Season 7 Resumes With A Bang.

The 7th edition of FNL is here again! Starting on the 10th of March 2017 at the YMCA, Wandegeya, and this FNL7 will run for 5 weeks! Friday Night Lights started seven years ago, a concept unlike any other that had been done in Uganda. Uganda has a competitive basketball league and it is from this that Friday Night Lights was born.

FNL provides fans with the opportunity to interact with their favorite players while experiencing a fast paced, action packed game and also gives the players an opportunity to play with players that they normally play against during the national league. The draft ensured this mixture and the limited time provides for a fast paced game.

Friday Night Lights unveiled a new concept in managing the competition framework for this season. For the first time in Basketball history the team captains will be selected by the fans through an online voting platform. This season even goes further to have the fans determine the winner of the game by voting for the winning team though an online platform regardless of the final game score. This totally revolutionizes the playing field by putting the power into the hands of the fans.

Season 7 which features 10 teams, who are divided into two groups; teams (05) in each group will play against each other to get the top two teams from each group who will then progress to the semifinals and Each Friday’s winning Teams will be determined by an online vote tally by the Fans regardless of the score; the Fans will vote online for the team that entertained (Fans) the best.  The winning team will receive novelties from the various partners. 10 Fans will also receive Gift Hampers every Friday for the 6 weeks winners to the Finals. Each Team must be composed of 3 NBL players (Including the players), 2 ladies, 3 fans and 2 Div and D-league players to make 10 players. The 5 on court must be comprised of 1 lady, 1 fan, 1 Lower division player and preferably two Top division players. Each game runs for 40 minutes (15mins halves and with a 10mins) and is officiated by 2 umpires.

FNL as a brand seeks to give back to the fans for their support in the growth of the sport by creating an off season basketball bonanza that caters to the needs of the different stakeholders in basketball but specifically give back to the fans and the players. It allows corporate to have an opportunity to brand a vibrant and fast growing product that is capturing the age demographics of 18- 55 years old, from all walks of life.

This year’s FNL is expected to run from for a period of 5 weeks, playing every Friday starting from 10th March to the 7th April 2017. The games tip off at 6:00pm and run through to 10:30pm at the Y.M.C.A Wandegya Court. Tickets will be available at the gate as early as 5pm on game day.With a new twist to this season where fans will vote in their favorite teams that will display the most entertainment, stay here for more information.

 O’team (Otim Jonah), McGyver(Paul Odong), Flish (Oketcho Flavia) , Wazee, Sudi (Sudi Ulanga), Fahmy (Fahmy Ssebatindira), Ayo ( Judith Nansobya), Blick( Norman Blick), Enabu (Jimmy Enabu) and Makiadi (Michael Makiadi).
