If there is an artiste who has given her record label Swangz Avenue problems, it is Winnie Nwagi. She has made her label apologize to secondary schools for her missconduct, compensate music promoters over her failure to perform at some events.
Being a professional label, there are certain things they don’t want to be affiliated with and they will do anything possible to settle matters before they run out of hand. On Monday, they had to dig deep in their pockets and compensate a one promoter Mr Ssendagire Robert who had reported a case at Kyotera Police station after Winnie Nwagi failed to turn up for a show yet she had been paid Ug Shs 1.9 million.
A receipt was even offered to Mr Ssendagire dated 9th/07/2019 and Winnie was required to perform in Kyotera on the 24th of August 2019 but didn’t explain why she missed the show. This forced the complainant to open up a case with ref number OB/M/F/P reporting Winnie and Gonzaga her manager.
The Industrial Area, Kampala based record label decided to refund Ssendagire with all the amount he spent on booking Nwagi and the case was dismissed.
Some week ago, the ‘Musawo’ hit singer was in hot soup after a video of her and her queen dancers clad in skimpy outfits engaging students of St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) in erotic dance moves . This incident saw Winnie and Swangz Avenue humbly apologize to the school administration
