Ghetto president Bobi Wine this week was bitter with the organisers of the ‘Red Carpet Awards’ which are slated for Saturday the 31st of October in City Hall Johannesburg-South Africa for using his name as part of the event. The Ghetto Gladiator was unhappy with the organisers who had placed his picture on the poster advertising the awards and littered on many streets of Johannesburg, including Television adverts showing him as the guest artiste on the awards day.
“This is to inform my fan base In South Africa that neither me nor my management team was contacted about the concert below. Am therefore NOT going to attend the “awards” being talked of in that posta and as my legal team in South Africa carries out their duty of finding and bringing to justice the organiser of that event, please don’t be duped of your money. Am not coming down to you in October”. Said Bobi Wine on his facebook page.
When Chano8 contacted Bobi’s manager Mr John Ssentamu for a comment and more information about the saga, this is what he had to say. “A lady who told me was organising the Red Carpet Awards called me like 8 months back, she told me how she wanted to invite Bobi Wine but due to some unknown reasons, she gave money to someone else who she thought was Bobi’s manager. We were surprised when Alli a friend of Fire Base crew based in South Africa told us that the Lady went ahead to announce that Bobi Wine will attend the awards as a guest artiste”.
It is not clear what the organisers’ next move is since they haven’t responded to Bobi’s snub. Leaving all this aside, Bobi Wine is a busy man planning and organizing his ‘Kigwa Leero’ concert that will take place on Saturday the 17th at his own beach in Busaabala and assured fans that the entire Fire Base crew are more than ready for this event.
