When she was 20 years old, songstress Irene Ntale had a dream of having a big concert performing to her fans as an artiste. It came true last night at Sheraton Hotel’s gardens located in Kampala. The ‘Irene Ntale Date Night Sembera Concert went down successfully and fans enjoyed the best of live music performance from the ‘Gyobera’ singer.
Ntale started off her performance with ‘Kabugo’, ‘Mazzi Ne Kyenyanja’ (on her upcoming album), ‘Body To Body’, ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Nkubukiinze’. She later went for a break, leaving the stage for Joel Kisaakye from her camp Swangz Avenue who performed his ‘Okikola Otya Love’ song.
She came back more energised performing ‘Laagi Empya’ (on her upcoming album) before fellow singer Rema Namakula joined her and they performed her (Rema’s) ‘Lean On Me’. Rema later did her ‘Sibyamukisa’. Shortly after, Big Size Bebe Cool joined Ntale and with whom they did their ‘Love Letter’ collabo.
‘Smile For Me Uganda’ and miming Dr Jose Chameleone’s ‘Valu Valu’, Coco Finger’s ‘My Miss’ and Sheebah Karungi’s ‘Twesana’ were the songs she did later on before she changed the mood to a Reggae one miming Dawn Penn’s ‘No No No’ and did her ‘Ono Omwana’. She later invited Ray Signature and Swangz Avenue’s Zulanda with whom they performed their ‘This I Promise You’ collabo.
The next round of entertainment had a feel of gospel music as she sang some gospel tunes which took the crowd into spirit with many standing on their feet, raising their hands up as they sang along the praise and worship songs she was singing. She then later did ‘Critical Emergency’ (on her upcoming album) and later ‘Nze Nawe’.
Winnie Nwagi took the stage next, did her famous hit ‘Musawo’ and Irene later concluded her concert performing ‘Gwe Aliko’, ‘Olindaba’, ‘ Nzena’, ‘Gyobeera’, ‘He Go Down’, ‘Bikoola’ alongside Radio and Weasel and finally Sembera.
The concert was well attended, big ups to Swangz Avenue who worked on the sound and production near to perfection. The common faces in the attendees there was NRM’s Captain Mike Mukula, former Miss Uganda Ellah, Leila Kayondo, SMS ONE’s Elizabeth Mushabe, Singers MoRoots and Mariam Namukasa aka Tindatiine.
