Through the years, Qwela Junction organised by Qwanza Music and House of Djs has been an event that brings different artistes and instrumentalists in all the music genres together on one stage to prove their worth to their fans.
The event has been happening in editions and first was the ‘Guitar Maestros’, ‘Sax Aces’ , ‘Divas’, ‘Crooners’ and ‘Christmas Edition’ and this year it has returned with a big bang with the ‘Bosses Of Bass’ edition
5 top bassists namely Tshaka Mayanja, Earnest Otim, Martin Mutabingwa, Josh Mutebi and Sammy Kasule have been headlined to grace this year’s edition slated for Sunday the 5th of November at Kampala Serena Hotel’s Victoria Hall.
For that matter therefore, Yesterday morning the organisers held a presser where they shed more light on what is expected.
The presser took place at Serena Hotel’s Turaco Hall and different journalists were briefed on what this event boasts of come Sunday despite the fact that the other 4 headliners were not in attendance but they were represented by Sammy Kasule.
While speaking at the presser, Joe Kahiri the proprietor Kwanza Music said. “I just want to put a few words out there and one of them is top notch, right at the top. Why I say this is I think that the show that is coming up on Sunday, the quality is unmatchable with the musicians that we are doing and the quality of production.”
Kahiri added by saying that it might take Ugandan a very long time to see such a show. “One of the words I would to put out there is unique. It will be a long time before you see this kind of show again” He added.
Sammy Kasule who represented the other headliners said that everything in on set. “This is a very exciting thing Just like Kahiri said. In the rehearsal room it is cooking so don’t miss because the team is fire, The whole set up is just hot so lets us come and listen to the songs that we have rehearsed. Every bass player will be performing 2 songs.” Sammy explained.
