On Wednesday, residents of Munyonyo gathered as court bailiffs forcefully entered socialite Jack Pemba’s house on orders from court. They were further surprised to see the men piling his property on a lorry and drove away with them to an unknown destination
They were expecting the socialite to be home with his wife Sheeba Kasami but none of them was and from the look of things, they had taken a long time without being in this house.
Pemba had gotten a loan of $220,000 which is approximately Ug Shs 819,566,000 from business tycoon Godfrey Kirumira but his due date of clearance is long overdue. They had even reached an agreement of Pemba paying in installments but he kept on dodging them.
According to one of the bailiffs, they were expected to pick up Pemba’s belongings like two cars including a Range Rover among other expensive items but they only found a fridge, sofa set and a flat screen.
“We thought we would find things equivalent to the money he’s owed but we found cheap things. It’s not over yet because we will keep looking for him.”said the bailiff.
No one knows Pemba’s whereabouts lately but once he appears, he is expected to answer about this said loan.
