As Muslims in Uganda prepare for Eid Aduha, the whole country is in celebration mood with many heading out to look for entertainment. One guaranteed spot to provide entertainment is Zone 7 located in Bugoglobi every Wednesday, Janzi band which is made of 7 talented fun filled guys entertains revelers there.
The young members of the band who share the same vision and passion for music, have had a few challenges recently especially after their lead singer Brian Gideon aka Giddy quit to concentrate on family life.
They have however since regrouped and today all roads lead to the Bugolobi based hot spot Zone 7 which has become a big fixture in the week for those looking for live music. Every Wednesday at Zone 7, there is lots of performances from the band which has become one of the top and biggest bands in Uganda. They perform lot’s of cover and original compositions.
The band was founded by James Ssewakiryange and Abraham Sekasi in 2002 after realizing it was time to change the level of Ugandan Music in comparison to other western developed states. They got their name ‘Janzi’ which is a Luganda language word meaning a cricket insect.
Recently, they have had a variety of top vocalists like Emmanuel Dragu doing the honors as they planned on moving forward without Gideon. The management has promised a surprise act today and can only hope to expect the best tonight.
