A star-studded line up of Uganda’s top artistes namely Leone Island boss Dr Jose Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, BET award winner Eddy Kenzo and Rema Namakula are among the local stars warming up for this year’s Convention for Ugandans living and working in the Diaspora especially North America.
The other Ugandan key notable figures to grace the festival are, Dr Margie Kigozi who will preside over the festival, Capital FM’s Flavia Tumusiime who will host the proceedings and Delilah Bisase is expected to entertain the gathering with belly dancing skills.
Since 1988, Ugandans in North America have been coming together each year in a chosen North American city. These gatherings are the largest, most persistent and the most anticipated association of Ugandans in the Diaspora. The goals are to stimulate and encourage nationwide acquaintance and fellowship among Ugandan members in North America, Europe and Uganda.
According to the organizers, the mission is to bring together Ugandans now living in North America and create a platform on which they can network, share, and experience Ugandan culture and the abundant opportunities of their new homes abroad.
The Uganda annual Festival will run from September 4th – 6th 2015 in New York expected to together Ugandans in the Diaspora to network in areas of Business, Education, Culture, Leadership, Diversity Technology and more for positive causes.
