Self styled music Doctor Jose Chameleone has promised to promote upcoming fresh talent in the music industry in Uganda. Chameleone recently posted on his face book page that he is there to support new talent and is not in the way to block anyone.
“We never block way for Talent! Coz its a gift from above. One of Uganda’s most talented saxophonists MICHAEL KITANDA, is in the list of features to show case on the 28TH MARCH TUBONGE LIVE CONCERT LUGOGO! the list still grows as we are left with 16 days to HISTORY made on that day! God gave it us so let’s use it),” the post read.
Chameleone has lined up a list of heavyweights in the East African region for his concert dubbed ‘Tubonge live East Africa concert’ is scheduled to take place on the 28th March 2014 at Lugogo cricket Oval with follow up concerts on 29th March at Colline Hotel in Mukono and 30th March in Resort Beach Entebbe. Michael Kitanda whom some people in the know believe in extremely talented is expected to role out some serious Jazz tunes. Michael who has written about his upcoming album in his personal blog at http://fezah.com/project/michael-kitanda-saxifaction/# says he has already recorded 7 tracks off the planned 15 – track- album.
“I’m excited to finally be working on my debut solo album, Saxfaction. The album will take you on a Smooth Jazz journey filled with my Ugandan influences. I’m doing a whole 12 tracks on this debut CD. I’m working with different musicians around in Kampala – from David Pragmo, Ernest on bass (Majestics Band), Gerald Mbuya on drums (Baximba Waves), Frank Tusubira (Code 9) on Keys (Code 9), Andrew Ahuura and Sam Bisaso handling mixing,” he writes in his blog. Michael Kitanda is a protege of Isaiah Katumwa and has performed alongside the Jazz maestro in many concerts in Uganda
