Last year in March, singer Eddy Kenzo made himself and Uganda proud when he won the award of ‘Best African Entertainer’ at the 36th edition of the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMAs).
The 37th edition nominees were recently released and again Ugandan has a representative. Saxophonist Joseph Sax made it in the category of ‘Best Instrumentalist’
Although he is facing tough competition from fellow nominees like Jamaican and internationally celebrated saxophonist Dean Fraser and Sly and Robbie which is a Jamaican rhythm section and production duo, Jose is so hopeful he might bring the award home.
Chano8 talked to Joseph in an exclusive interview and here is what he said “I feel so excited and overwhelmed about the nomination. God has already foreseen it and he knows who is to win. I believe in all of us and I have much respect for my fellow nominees. Dean Fraser inspired me a lot”
Saturday the 11th of May which is the awarding night is the day Joseph Sax is looking forward to. The event will be held at Pegasus Hotel located in Jamaica’s capital Kingston
