Veteran gospel singer and Buikwe District Woman MP in the 10th Ugandan parliament Honourable Judith Babirye was left shocked yesterday after she shared her New Year’s message for her fans on her official Facebook page.
“Good morning fans, friends and family. Happy New Year 2018. Stay blessed y’all.” Read her message
To our surprise, the comments that Facebook users posted were a justification that a section of the public is still unhappy with her stand on the amendment of the article 102 B in the Ugandan constitution that does not allow a person above 75 years to stand for presidency.
Honourable Babirye alongside other 316 MPs of 445 agreed to the amendment of the constitution in a parliament session that lasted the whole day.
Since then, a section of the public has been mad at these MPs with some being chased away in their constituencies by angry voters.
Babirye shared her new year’s message but the reception was not really that good going by these screenshots and the reactions that followed. Some of the language used is gross and we highly condemn such acts as Chano8 believes in fair play.
