If there is one comedian who is going to have a busy second half of the year, it’s definitely going to be Anne Kansiime. Having booked for a show on July 2 in Malawi, the Ugandan queen will have to travel the next day to Zambia where she will be sharing the centre stage with her close friend teacher Mpamire. And if that wasn’t enough she will be heading back to Zimbabwe in August for the second time. It seems like these South African countries can’t get enough of Kansiime and compete to have her at their events.
If it’s not her rib-cracking performances, it’s her humanitarian work especially with children which is catching people’s attention. She has won over hearts of several people across the world from Australia to Canada to USA and several African states. Her name has been praised and bringing it back home, she has created a platform for several upcoming comedians who would want emulate or walk in her path.
Kansiime’s growing fanbase is evident on her social media pages, with a booming one million fans on Facebook and over 250,000 subscribers on her Youtube channel. She has revolutionized comedy in Uganda and the penetration of social media worldwide has played a part in her success story.
