Last Saturday was a big day in the career of Ugandan female Kick Boxer Patricia Apolot as she emerged victorious at the Wolrd Kickboxing Championships in Budapest Hungary destroying her opponent with ease in 3 rounds of an action packed encounter against Slovakian Victoria Lipianska in the full contact.
“The lion of all lions has ones more roared and has given me victory over the Slovakian lady in the foreign land miles away from home thanks to my sponsor lafarge hima cement my dear coaches for the good training and partnerships during the training and to world Kickboxing federation for the heart to believe in me
Uganda oyeeeeeeee” The excited Apolot posted on social media after the match.
The team of 3 which was boosted with Shs. 70m by Hima Cement before flying out also included Alex Matsiko the World Kickboxing Federation K1 light middleweight champion and Shakey Mubiru with the latter also wining his match against Sandor Joo. They were challenged to qualify for Kickboxing World Cup which will take place later in November in Italy.
Although the team perfumed well, only Alex Matsiko lost his match after receiving a head-knock in the second round against Csaba Gyorfy in the K1 category.
Patricia the new WKF International Champion whose sponsorship package from Hima includes a full year’s facilitation for preparing for major fights and tournaments was all praise for her sponsors and thanked all stake holders for coming to her rescue at the right time while promising to raise the Ugandan flag even higher.
“We all did our best. I and Shakey won our titles though unfortunately Alex got hit by knee on the head. Lafarge made us prove beyond ourselves that we are destined fighter”. Patricia told Chano8 in a chat from Hungary.
