Today afternoon, local musician Leila Kayondo stood surety for Sk Mbuga after he was charged before the Makindye magistrate’s court after he was found guilty of assaulting her a few days back.
Mbuga, real names Suleiman Kabangala Mbuga who had spent two nights at Kabalagala Police Station appeared before chief magistrate Richard Mafabi today afternoon where he denied the charges against him.
He was then granted a non- cash bail of Shs5 million and court ordered Leila and Mbuga’s friend Walakira Zzake to sign a bond of 10million shillings to ensure that he returns to court for further investigations into the matter as hearing of the case had already began by state prosecutor Ms Happiness Ainebyona.
Leila on the other hand wanted to reconcile with her partner (Mbuga) and in the process, court ordered her to stand surety for the accused as an indication that she was ready to forgive her.
The magistrate set January 8th for the next hearing when the two will file a memorandum of understanding with court.
