‘This is for Kosovo thank you Lord and thanks to everyone who made this possible’ were the words the new VIGA Male Artiste of the year Levixone Lala uttered after receiving his award last night at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
Levixone who had a good 2015 with hit songs like Samanta dominating air waves was also nominated in 4 other categories although he lost them. Non the less he was still very excited after winning the big one and promised to work even harder this year.
Levixone 25 who grew up from Kosovo a rugged slum in Makindye in the outcasts of Kampala, was also happy for his colleagues like Pastor Brian Lubega who walked away with the award of Best RnB/Soul song of the year.
Other big winners of the night included Coopy Bly who walked away with two awards (Best Raggae song and Best Video for the song what your love), Julie Mutesasira ( Female artiste of the year),Judith Babirye (Inspirational song ‘Sitarudi’ and Best collaboration ) and Pastor Wilson Bugembe (Song of the year ‘Dala’)
However, the Awards ceremony was marred by disorganization right from the start as guests were kept waiting from 4pm till 6:30pm when things finally got underway when the little -known artistes took to the stage to entertain the guests.
Things got out of hand when the winners were announced and ushers were no where to be seen. In some instances, there would be no one to hand over the trophies or wrong categories handed to the artistes.
To make matters worse, the event dragged too long hours past time scheduled on the pragram because of the long speeches and Pastor Mondo Mugisha who decided to sell the VIGA Magazine to all the artistes present.
By the time the main categories were announced, the hall was empty as the bored guests walked away despite the MCS Natal and Wesley King trying their best to keep them entertained.
