This is a new one worth listening to as gospel meets secular with singer Levixone Lala putting his music ideas together with Ray Signature’s coming up with a song dubbed ‘God Is God’. This song adds on to a growing list of ‘collabos’ Levixone has done from the time he began doing music with the most recent featuring Baby Gloria.
Chano8 contacted the ‘Samanya’ hit singer Levixone and he had this say about the song.
“It feels so good that this song is on my Connection album and this is the first time am working with Ray Signature. We met long time ago though but we have been trying to understand each other’s music. One of the things that made us do the collabo is that we all record from the same place that is Neutriq Town studios.”
” I used to preach to Ray every time we met and one day he disclosed to me that his dad is preacher and how he (Ray’s dad) had always asked him to sing gospel music. So we wrote the song and DKing produced.” He added.
‘God Is Good’ the song
It’s is a praise and worship song where the duo sang about God’s sweetness and mighty. Apart from that, the two sang about their experiences in receiving and embracing salvation.
Ray Signature begins the first verse with an experience of how he came to know God. He sings about an ordeal which involves an encounter with Christ through a Church located in his neighbourhood. It so happens that one Sunday morning a lady was leading a praise and worship session and her sweet melodious voice filtered through and attracted him (Ray) to check out what was going on.
To his shock, on top of having sizzling vocals, he finds her so beautiful which forces him to join her in praise and worship as the priest preaches to the congregation. Ray eventually gets filled with the power of the Holy Spirit thus embracing salvation making him become a born again child of God.
Levixone comes in the second verse singing about his first experience at church. It was one located in a slam where he grew up from. His main aim was to get money. He was questioned by the pastor whether he really believes in God. ‘I do’ was Levixone’s reply and from then he has never turned back.
He later boasts that, although people could see him having a blast like any other dot com youth, he is filled with the Holy Spirit inside him. He then concludes in Patwa saying ‘A wi sing fi Jesus’ meaning we sing for Jesus.
