In March, Capital FM’s Lucky Mbabazi came up with an idea of the ‘Lucky’s Groove Back’, which is a fitness program/event where they invite professional fitness instructors in different areas to equip participants with simple workouts that they can do on their own
Season one of the event successfully went down on Saturday the 9th of March at the KCCA grounds in Lugogo and those who attended surely benefited much according to the feedback Lucky got. The event is now back with season two slated for this Saturday the 4th of May at a new venue, Legends Rugby Grounds located in Naggulu
While addressing a press briefing on Tuesday morning at Legends Rugby Club, Lucky who was encouraged by the first season attendance disclosed how season two will be bigger and better but above all equip attendees with skills in self defense
“We shall be looking at self defense and we partnered with Uganda Police. You can be attacked by someone out of nowhere but if you panic and don’t know what to do, it is very hard to save yourself so that is why we found it very important that we get these self defense skills, learn them and you never know when you could save someone or yourself hence the self defense this time round” Said Lucky
In attendance was the AIGP Mr Andrew Sorewen who expressed Police’s excitement after Lucky contacted them to be part of this event where fitness instructors from Uganda Police will teach the revellers how to defend themselves in case of attack
As opposed to the first season, season two will be a little different with the introduction of the children section where little ones will be taken through drills that suit their age and this will be handled by fitness instructors who specialise in children’s physical fitness
Tickets are already on sale at Legends Rugby Club at Ug Shs 20,000, 10,000 and 30,000 for adults, children and a couple.
